Bricks of Nonsense
by Nicole Terry
falling up backwards
in a dark well of homeless drones
groaning weep moans down
antiseptic corridors
masquerading as mental health hallways
Is this Hotel my new home?
Only drowning reasons in shallow pools
of tears uncried by years
of systematic treason
Thought Underground
and no light to
chase away engineered shadows
Obedience pulls the steel strings
of collective existence
Minds combined to the tune
of Homeland Security
Fists raised angrily in the air:
AMERICA—
“one for none, all for one”
Silently speaking behind paper barriers
yelling worship for the Badge
and Color of Reality
Thank you, Vicar, for your trust in “E Pluribus Unum”
